24th August 2010
Windsurfing: Levington
Wind Direction: wsw
Wind Stength: 15/20
Surf / Sea State: river chop :(
Air Temperature: 18
Sea Temperature: 17
Weather: sunny periods
Max Speed: 27.91 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 18 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

As we only had three children to look after today I was able to get off windsurfing :) As the wind was wsw which is off at Felixstowe I went to Levington which had a mid-day high tide which was supposed to coincide with the strongest wind. With wind gusting to 20 mph I tried the Falcon 90 with the x 15 7m and was on the water by 10 :) but the wind was very up and down and the river very lumpy and I was having trouble keeping upwind :( So sadly I had to switch to the Xantos which was better and I made it to the smooth water on the far bank but this was also the area with least wind !!! I had a few runs down towards Felixstowe docks but got fed up with the chop and gave up at 12.30 just as the tide had turned and the wind increased !!! So I probably sailed the worst part of the day with the lightest wind and with the tide high the choppest water :( So even with all this wind I could'nt find any flatwater !!!

Abit of a waste of a windy day :(
